the original program.
---------------

Introduction:

This program will give you the shortest distance between any two
locations on earth, provided you know the latitude and longitude of both
spots. It takes up a mere 667 bytes on-calc.

---------------

Contents and installation:

The contents of this ZIP are:

worldist.86p - The main program for the calculator.
world*.gif - screenshots
worldist.txt - This file :)

To install, simply send worldist.86p to your calculator using some type of
linking software. The file was extracted from my calc using TiLP, which
is recommended.

Usage:

This program was designed to operate perfectly on a shell. Basically,
you can use IShell, Rascall, ASE, Seklorean Warrior, or any other shell
with it, and still see the results, and return safely to the shell.

Let's use an example. If you want to find the straight distance between Los
Angeles and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The coordinates are 34.05N and 118.24W for
LA, and 22.90S and 43.22W for Rio de Janeiro. Run the program. The title
screen will appear. Hit enter. The first location is LA. Since it is
north latitude, enter 1 for the first prompt. Then enter 34.05. Now do
the same for longitude. It's 2 for west, and 118.24 degrees.

Now do the same procedure using Rio de Janeiro's coordinated for the second
location. You should see the results:

Miles: 6308.81...
KMeters: 10153.06...

This is how to use the program :)

Disclaimer:

This program provides simple estimations. Also, it gives shortest
distance, meaning you need to go in the same direction straight to the
location to make it. I am not responsible if you plan a trip, get lost
in New Mexico, and get attacked by aliens. I am not responsible for
any vehicle damage, or any sort of damage period. If you drown yourself
in an ocean/sea/lake, I will not be held accountable. Also, if you
destroy someone else's property, YOU are responsible, not me. If you
plan to use this program for your trips, please through your calculator
against the wall until it breaks. Then, step on it. I will not be held
responsible for damages to your calculator.
